 OVER/UNDER BET

The bookmakers always try to keep the bettors satisfied with brand new prospects for betting on games and by inventing new betting techniques. The over/under bet for example is one of the well established betting systems and in this article you can find all the information you need and most importantly, how to make profit using it.

WHAT EXACTLY IS AN OVER/UNDER BET?

At first bettors were using the over/under bet to predict the goals that will be scored at the games. One of the key parts was that the bookmakers were suggesting to the bettors to predict if there will be more or less than 2.5 goals at the game. However, with time, a lot of bookmakers like Bwin, Bet365 or Tipico Sportsbook have expanded the variety of over/under bets. Because of this now you have the possibility to bet on nearly everything to be over or under a particular point. For example, more or less corners, red cards, yellow cards, offsides, throw-ins etc.

SOME EXAMPLES FOR AN OVER/UNDER BET

You have a great chance of winning a single over/under bet because it´s odds are really not very high. The problem is you will probably not make a lot of money by winning it. Because of this it is smarter if you combine 2 or 3 over/under bets to a system/yankee bet or a multi bet. Of course, before doing so, you should get acquainted with the games and the teams that you are interested to bet on. Learn about the details, for example do they get a lot of cards or their record about scoring goals and so on.

As an illustration, we can take a look at the odds from the England Premier League: we can analyse the last games of Liverpool or Manchester City and conclude that both teams normally score a lot of goals. Nearly at all of the games of both teams there were at least 3 goals, which makes it almost a certain bet.

Furthermore we can analyse their opponents and their performance. For example if they are likely to receive a lot of goals or if they are reckless and receive many cards.

Here we can illustrate the over/under bet with this betting slip example. Again we chose the two teams mentioned before, Liverpool and Manchester City. We have bet on over 2.5 goals because the previous encounter of Liverpool and Everton ended in a 5-2. We bet on an over 2.5 because the second game can have a lot of goals as well. By doing so we get a pretty good deal with these two legs in particular, even though the risk is quite low. One more thing we could do to diversify the over/under bet is to combine it with a regular Winner-bet. Even though this makes things more interesting, bear in mind that the risk is slightly higher, but the good news is that the odds increase as well.

WHICH SPORTS ARE MORE SUITABLE FOR THE OVER/UNDER BETTING SYSTEM?

As we already mentioned before, the over/under bet is most popular with the football bettors to bet on over/under 2.5 goals. However, it can be used in many other sports like tennis or basketball and more so in countries where football is not as liked and popular.

IS IT PROFITABLE?

Yes it is. But you need to know that if you just single bet on overs/unders your profit is not going to be very high. Because of this we suggest that you play an accumulation bet with a small number of overs/unders or multibet of up to 8 legs. If you want to succeed and make a good profit the best thing you can do is study a league good enough so you can make an accurate predictions about the goals that will be scored at every game.
